Covenant Mercies’ first international partnership began with a church in rural eastern Uganda, leading to the establishment of the Orphan Sponsorship Program in 2003. We seek to combat the multi-generational cycle of poverty in the lives of fatherless children, and restore them to everything God created them to be as bearers of His image (Genesis 1:27). Through a monthly or annual gift, sponsors provide their child with an education, clothing, nutritional support, hygienic supplies, healthcare, Christian teaching, and vocational training.
From 2006 to 2008, we expanded our program areas to include rural western Uganda; Ndola, Zambia; and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. By collaborating with local churches and staff members from each program area, we are able to foster culturally-effective and sustainable solutions to the challenges facing our sponsored children. Today, we serve over 1,100 fatherless children in the name of Jesus Christ. We are grateful for our partners and donors around the world who are making this mission possible, and promoting generational transformation for our sponsored children.
