On October 26, 2007, Covenant Mercies held its first ever benefit concert, A Note of Hope, to the sheer delight of all who were able to attend. Lending their time and talent to our cause were The Gerald Veasley Band (featuring the amazing Gerald Veasley on bass, Donald Robinson and Will Brock on keyboards, Carl Cox on saxophone, and James Rouse on drums), with special guests John Blake on violin, and Rosella Clemmons Washington on vocals.
This exceptional lineup of musicians drew out a crowd of over 500 people, with every dollar raised going directly into the ministry of Covenant Mercies. Between concert tickets and our post-concert dessert reception with the musicians, we were able to raise over $18,000 for our mission. Perhaps even more importantly, the entire evening stood out as a resounding celebration of the hope Covenant Mercies is bringing to thousands of suffering people, thanks to the generous support of all our donors and sponsors. It was a fabulous event, and one we are fashioning into a new Covenant Mercies tradition. Please mark your calendars for our second A Note of Hope event on May 2, 2009. We look forward to seeing you there!
